The session is between 30 and 45 minutes and includes, make-up, hair touch up, and 2-3 wardrobe changes and looks.  Our team will go through wardrobe options and choose what will best represent you and photograph well.

PREPARATION FOR ADULTS AND KIDS:

Parents, if you are bringing two or more little ones to be photographed (ages 1-6), please bring another adult to help out.

Get plenty of sleep the night before!

Bring a snack and water especially for the kiddos.

Come with a clean, fresh face. Make-up free (moisturizer is okay) The make-up artist will prepare you for your headshot.

Moisturized lips (no chapped lips)

If you have make-up allergies or sensitivity, please bring your own products for the make-up artist to work with

Do not get a facial or wax the day prior, you need to allow 3-4 days for your skin to heal.

Men, if you are doing one look with facial hair, and one without, please come prepared to shave at the studio.  Talk to your agent prior to your shoot to discuss if you need to shave.

Fresh manicure (clean fingernails, no colored nail polish)

Parents, please remove all nail polish and temporary tattoos from your children prior to their headshot.

Arrive with your hair done! Styled the way you naturally wear it, or suggested by your agent PRIOR to your photo session. Your hair and make-up artist will touch it up as we go.

Come with CLEAN, healthy hair, fresh cut and color. DO NOT COME WITH HAIR UP! Curly or straight?  Talk to your agent on what's the best way to market yourself.  When in doubt don't change the natural texture too drastically.

Please prepare your clothing in an organized way, neatly folded or on hangers

BRING:

Remember that certain clothing items may look better in real life than they do on camera. It is important to bring several clothing options to your shoot - at least 6-10 choices of tops , 3-6 bottom options and 2 choices of shoes.  Our team will pick which outfits will photograph best.

TOPS:

For your headshot, consider how to market yourself. Your agent should be able to help you with this, but here are a few DO'S AND DO NOT'S!

DO NOT BRING THESE TOPS...

Large logos, sparkles, glitter, anything that is wrinkled or has stains on it, anything that is too baggy, nothing with "cold shoulders" (holes in the shoulders), nothing that is totally see-through, sports shirts, golf shirts

DO BRING THESE TOPS...

Fresh and new is best! A tighter fitting shirt shoots better than a baggy one. A variety of color can pop and flatter your skin tone. A few black, white, or grey options can bring a casual or dynamic look as well. Consider flattering neck lines that work with your face shape.

T-Shirts - scoop neck, v-neck, crew neck, halter neck, henley, mock neck

Tank tops -form fitting, scoop neck, square neck, spaghetti straps, halter

Button-Down casual - denim, flannel, plaid, gingham, chambray

Button-Down business -  oxford, classic, form fitted

Sweaters - fitted, textured, v-neck, cardigan, mock neck,

Blazers/Suit Jackets - slim fit, variety of color, texture

Jean Jackets

ANYTHING TO LAYER

BOTTOMS:

Jeans - well fitting, different washes, skinny, boot cut, wide legged (no rhinestones, no large white stitching)

Pants - consider the seasons, and what is flattering and marketable for you.

Shorts - Youth and teen: consider what is trending

Dresses/Skirts - Consider what is age appropriate and what is trending

SHOES:

Shoes may or may not be in the shot, but having options is great!  Please, no scuffs or dirty bottoms. Tennis shoes, boots, heels, ballet flats, dress shoes - again consider what styles are trending.

UNDERGARMENTS:

Nude undergarments are a must to bring! Underwear, thong, bra, strapless bra, and a black bra. If you have a semi see through shirt that requires a cami, bring nude, white, and black cami options. NO LACE!

For pre-teen girls please bring cami options (nude, white, black) or a slim sports bra.  Just nothing with bright colors, too bulky, or with lace.

Tights or leggings are good options

Socks - fun patterns, cute knee high socks

A few favorite accessories: i.e. belts, necklaces, bracelets, hats, scarves, bandanas

KIDS:

Please try to stay away from sparkles, bows, sequins, giant name brand logos (cute drawings, doodles, shapes or patterns are fine)

Keep sizes in mind - a smaller size shoots better than a bigger size!

T-Shirts, button-downs, sweaters, dresses, denim jackets (think layers) jeans, pants, shirts, shoes

ABSOLUTELY NO SPORTS WEAR sorry parents, I know it's hard to get them out of Under Armour, but it does not photograph well at all.

Anything Cat & Jack from Target is perfect!

For the little ones, please bring onesie options.

FUN FACTOR!

Bring an item that you love or think would be really fun!  We love to try things!  Either it will work or won't, but at least we can try.

Headshots and portfolio sessions are an investment for you to market yourself with your agency.  A lot of talent will buy items for the session and return after.  DO NOT take the tags off before the shoot, and know the return policy.

Athletic looks are only for those who have been told by an agent they need to market themselves that way.  Please bring new active wear and props, yoga mat, water bottle etc.
